Bringing audiences together in celebration of the little things that make life worthwhile. It is a combination of participatory theatre, installation art, standup comedy, and improvisation.

An intimate, one-man performance

Writing a list of every brilliant thing in the world is not an easy thing to do.

But when your dad takes you out of class to see your mum in the hospital, maybe a list of all the things worth living for is the only thing a seven-year-old can do to save a life.

Every Brilliant Thing, by Duncan MacMillan, is a life affirming story of a boy who grows up with a suicidal mother. Simultaneously hilarious and gut-wrenching, Every Brilliant Thing weaves an intricate pattern of the stories we tell ourselves and each other that makes life worth living. This intimate theatrical experience immerses audiences in the realities of depression and the beauty of life.

“Because then there would be no mystery, no curiosity, no creativity, no conversation, no discovery. Nothing would be new and we’d have no need to use our imaginations and our imaginations are what make life bearable.”
